Star wars battlefront 2 help!

i bought star wars battlefront 2 from steam now im installing it but around 15% it says: Disk IO failure

so i asked it in a help thread of steam an admin gave me a link to run it as administrator didn't work so i had to install latest updates from physx directx net framework etc i did this and still if i try to resume it it says after some seconds DISK IO FAILURE ... what to do

I'll assume you don't have problems running other games because a disk IO error is usually a disk IO error and you may have HD issues.

With your Steam window open and you're looking at your game list...

Right click "Star Wars Battlefront 2", then click "Properties"... then click the "Local Files Tab". Then click the "Verify Integrity of Game Cache...".

IO errors, oh lord I remember these on my older drives. I hate to say it pally, but your hard drive is toasting itself to death. I'd recommend you pick up a spare HD (like an external) and back up all your data soon, elsewise you risk losing it all.
