Check out my video (the only other post in the forum) and you can see for yourself what you think I cover basically all of the game.

Given that I run the studio who made it, but here are some early reviews and coverage that may be useful in your decision-making:

Just played the first mission and it's an A+ from me! Love the dogfighting round the asteroids and space installations, seeing an enemy fighter that's venting gas due to your gattling cannon punching through it's hull to see it spiral into an asteroid :) very movie like.
And the gattling cannons remind me of BSG, which is good.
I would have paid 3 times the price for this.

I wouldnt mind to try out a demo for this game, would help me to decide if it's something for me or not. :)

Would you tell us if Seamless plans to have DLC or free upgrades in the future or is the game as complete as you want it to be right now? Is it closer in completeness to Limbo or say Nation Red/SPAZ with regular updates? If anyone has played Darkstar One/Freelancer/Evochron Mercenary please chime in as well and compare it to those.

It sounded like they're doing episodic DLCs with this game, and this is the first half of the storyline.

I have a question I can't find information on anywhere. Really simple, is there roll control in the game? Combat looks similar to Freelancer in how everything is streamlined. The lack of roll control killed it for me.

Yes, there is roll in the game and also slipping, where you can go in your current direction and spin round and shoot :)

Ok good. I saw the inertial based movement and was very pleased. It adds a whole new dimension to combat like in Evochron and I love it. Anyway, purchased and downloading SOL now.

Just for making a space fighting game, I bought it on faith ;)
I REALLY hope that in the future, you'll add multiplayer.
16vs16 would bring back those x-wing memories... I don't even remember the player cap back then ehhe ;)

I would like to know that as well. If I am going to pay full retail I would like to know what are the future plans for the title. I am not a fan of nickle and dime DLC! While I never expect future additions to be free; are we going to see mission packs, episodic expansion, traditional expansion, equipment DLC or trivial skin DLC?
What are the future plans for Sol:Exodus if the game sells well?
How mod friendly is the game?

Is there no Target in Receptacle? Or am I forced to cycle thru all targets to get to the one I'm chasing?

There is, I have no idea what the default is though, I remapped pretty much everything :)
You can also match your target's speed.

I'm assuming you are all using keyboard and mouse? I'll type down a few default keys that might help:
You can target enemy ships that are in front of your reticule by tapping the space bar by default.
You can match the targeted ship speed by clicking the mousewheel button down.
Missile locking: hold W and you will see the targeting reticule execute a special targeting animation. Once your target is locked-on, release W.
Q and E are your roll buttons by default and A is MAG cannon.
Sorry, I appreciate the attempt to revive the genre that I love the most...but I do not see anything that will make me stop playing StarLancer for this. I'll keep an eye on it to see if it eventually gets turned into something better, but as I noted in the other thread, from the trailer alone it does not capture the feel of those classic games.
Probably would have told this to you folks in the beta had I gotten in, but I can never get my account on Kotaku to work properly.
Hate to be a critic but I'll give the game time to mature before I invest.

Sad to say . but if you never support any new games that attempt to capture an old genre youll be playing Starlancer for a a very long time. I play Freelancer sometimes and this game on the surface has been fun for the few hours I had it.

Can we pilote the ship with the mouse like in The Polynomial ?

Not sure what 'the polynomial' is but yes, you can use mouse and keyboard.

Thank you everyone for the kind comments.
In the short term, we're adding in a toggleable cockpit view and an extra mode or two. We've already started on a DLC pack that will go into (WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD) the 10 year time period between the very first mission and Pluto.
And finally preliminary work has begun on the rest of the missions (Jupiter - Mercury).
So we fully intend to support this game. We're huge believers of this genre and really would like to see it come back!

In addition to mouse and keyboard, a USB connected XBox 360 controller will also work as well as many standard joysticks. Some joysticks, such as the Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X, will not fully work as hoped yet. The key mapping screen can help sort out many immediate issues, but one of the first patches for the game will involve greatly improving joystick support for devices like the Thrustmaster.

I haven't played a space combat game since the 90's, but the video instantly gave me nostalgia. I guess my reaction was the opposite of yours.

LoL right because Starlancer has so much new DLC coming out all the time.
Games have changed, get used to it.
