Curtis LCD2425A 24" LCD HDTV - 1080p, 1920 x 1080, 16:9, 5ms, 1000:1, HDMI, (Refurbished)

Hey guys, I was looking for a replacement for my monitor and I found this TV. I was looking for a new TV for my room anyway, so I was wondering how good this would be for playing games with my computer and watching TV?

I'm gonna connect my PC to it with my HDMI to DVI Adapter.

Never heard of the brand..

Plus its refurbished.. Its kind of hit or miss when it comes to unknowns like that..

it seems decent enough though..

But honestly, if i were you.. id spend a little more if possible and get a known brand that isnt refurbed..

Oh, and MAKE SURE You get the Warranty.

I use the 22" version as one of my eyefinity monitors and as a TV.
For 1080i TV use it's fine but not special in any way.
As an HDMI 1080p computer monitor it's useable but crap compared to the Dell Ultrasharp.

A refurb is not worth 150 bucks and I'd never use mine as a main monitor.

Curtis = Curtis Mathis, one of the older TV companies out there. Most of their business was centered around repairing the big cabinet style CRT TV's, but when technology grew cheap and people replaced rather than repaired, it transformed to sales and manufacturing, kinda like Radio Shack but less successful at the transformation.

My father used to repair TV's for them, now he works for the local TV station.

That's expensive especially for a refurb, considering the fact that you can get a 24" 1920x1080 computer monitor brand new for about the same price these days.

Pretty much this.

Not to mention the cabinet and bezels for that TV are massive, and while you can be sure the monitor will connect well to your computer and interface fine, TVs tend to be finicky.

Viewing angles are 170h/160v, so it's probably a TN panel. Not worth that price. Since you plan on using it for your computer too, look for a lcd tv with an IPS panel that has low input lag.
