I receive an "Account not part of Beta" error, but I am, am I not?

When I go into Steam options and select the drop-down menu for available betas, there are two: Beta Update and Skyrim Beta.

I've activated the "Beta Update" one, but it still gives me the error message. What am I doing wrong?

That is not how you activate Steam Mobile beta.

If you've attempted to log in to the app and received the "Account not in beta" error, then your account is in the queue for beta invites.

LOL i was so daft to try that too (setting my steam main account to download the beta update) hehe. ANyway, I hope you can chat with this.
