The downloads screen was a nice addition to the 2010 GUI update, but it has its problems. If you have many games that are installed but not fully updated, it populates the download screen with a bunch of paused downloads. This makes me not want to use this section of Steam because I have to scroll through 20 games just to find the one game that I am updating. It would be nice if the screen had tabs or filter options to filter Currently Downloading, Paused, or Updating, as well as a quick-view of the patch-notes. We were also promised something like scheduled downloads not long ago, is there any news on that?

Maybe also the ability to change the size of the icons on the download, so we can see a much smaller icon, but all of the downloads on the same screen, with a little less info per-icon, similar to the 'Game View' slider bar on the game screen.

Scheduled downloads is contingent on all the games on Steam rolling onto the new content system, we're something like a third of the way there.

I don't see the point of tabs in download section. But then I'm not of those who simultaneously download 50 games... I think it's pretty neat and i had no problems so far (but as i said, i downloaded maybe 10 games at once max).

The problem isn't downloading 50 games, it's having 50 games that are installed but not fully updated clogging up the download screen. It's much more common for people with slow connections.
