I'm a frequent trader and this would be a useful feature for others as well, we are in different timezones and it is much more convenient if we could trade on-the-go.

Would be great of course!

Probably security issues would make steam trading not possible

What security issues? There aren't any security issues that wouldn't be present on a PC or Mac.
This would definately be possible.

It probably is possible to do. It's still closed beta v1.0 released yesterday, give it some time.

I just think this would be pretty cool. This way I dont need to be at my computer when someone wants to trade with me. This would be helpful with things like tf2tp where you leave your trade offer and someone gets back to you. this way they can contact and trade with you without needing to be at the computer

On epossible security issue is that mobile devices are easier to lose or have stolen than PCs, which may make it easier for the thief to trade away all of someones things. Perhaps if all trades required the account owners password on the mobile app itd be relatively safe.

Same goes if the person buys games off the store with the stolen phone.

That does not count as an argument against implementing the trading feature for the mobile version of steam. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to buy games on the mobile version...

Or there wouldn't be an Android market or iTunes.

Argument invalid.

It'd be the same if someone found your wallet, and there are banking apps on mobile anyway (much worse than losing pixels/games)

Phone = Wallet. Lose either, and you risk your money stolen.

Anyway, adding an additional purchase PIN code before you can checkout gives you that extra layer of security.

Good to see a thread like this, and i agree with all of you, Steam Trading would be a massive improvement to the app, lets hope that Valve adds that feature in the near future!:)

It would be AMAZING to trade on Steam Mobile. I trade frequently (Level 3 donor on tf2outpost) and I've actually gotten MANY adds when I was on my iPod.

Should be nice if the trading will take advantage of the mobile platform in the future. For example allowing the trading via Bluetooth (for events, etc..)

I would love this feature. That is, after they make a dedicated iPad version (Retina Display Grapgics please!!!)

You'll probably see a Steam Virtual Reality version with XBL style avatar shop before you see the iPad version.

So trading isn't yet possible on mobile version? Wat is possible then? We can't play games anyway

Yeah, because playing Crysis 2 in a mobile is possible anyways.

How would they securely authenticate the trades if you're not connected to the internet?
Not going to happen. Ever.
