The Situation: I went into the Edit My Profile screen to change my name and headline.

The Problem: A backslash (\) was prepended to each apostrophe (') and quotation mark (") in my description. All newlines were changed to the string "<br />". And my location (city, state, country) was set to empty. Screenshot here. (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5733962/ZScreen/SS-2012-01-27_22.12.54.png)

The (Estimated) Cause: As for the description, someone's escaping things somewhere and they shouldn't be. No idea what's up with the location though.

The Details:
Android (2.3 on Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket), though it's possible that it's occurring on iOS too
Everything else seems to work fine

If you use the Steam mobile app to edit your profile information, it lets you see and edit the HTML, as opposed to just Plain Text like the regular steam app. This does not allow injection of HTML, but I found it makes editing your information pretty bothersome.

Also, the same bug seems to cause any escape characters, ie back-slashes to show in the editor. The problem with this is that after submitting your edited profile, any quotes get escaped again, by adding another back-slash.

So, as an example, my profile contained the word "I've", but after editing and saving my profile a number of times to test out the HTML bug, it turned into "I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'ve".

I know it's not exactly a terrible bug, but it means that if you want to edit your profile, you have to scour the whole thing to remove any \'s before submitting, and it's a bit of a pain.
