Firstly just wanted to say how awesome it is to finally have this app!! Been a long time coming!
Just a few thoughts regarding design + features:
First and biggest one is to enable the "master side list" menu accesible at ALL times in the app - so at any point u can quickly tab back to friends / navigate to another directory with ease ( as opposed to the current implementation - As currently the deeper you go into a subsection ie: store/catalog - which I have shown here, the further back you have to go...IE hit back 4-5 times to get access to that master side list menu button ).
I've done a really rough example of how I could see a decent implementation of it. ( this just shows the option in the catalog area - however ideally the button would be present at all times in the app - community / news...etc )

That really is my #1 for now - would really make navigating and going back to chat with friends + check other things out A LOT more streamlined in a flow sense. Obviously it does give less room for Titles + buttons, however by reducing the font size + reducing title length if necessary - it could be made to work across all pages.
Other thoughts + Improvements:
- when viewing the side master list - if there is a chat msg waiting - have a lit up bubble next to it or small glow etc...
- sort contacts by show online / offline friends
- perhaps a favourites group that can be toggled on / off that can sit atop the contact list if people desire (editable similar to drag and drop style of contacts)
- Wishlist cannot currently be edited - ( again simple edit button top of page, then a drag products accordingly into your order of priority - interface with remove button avaliable )
- Messages sent out from mobile APP not being logged on home Steam client (???)
- Store / Pages sometimes a little slow to load
- Some messages not coming through to app but going through to PC account chatbox
- Occasional small UI slow downs here and there.
Features that would be great down the line off the top of my head:
- A steam chat log ( Sync'd across home + mobile ) - with "APP" or "Mobile" next to your name in the log + in the chat window at home ?? log kept in the cloud- accesible from Desktop + App.
- Allow for a reminder system integrated with wishlist possibly ( If any game on wishlist goes on sale - a reminder / push msg pops up letting you know " 1 wishlist game currenty on sale! " , that could be defined in settings what sort of push u wanted for those msgs ( number badge or pop up msg etc ) outside of the app. Then Wishlist on sidebar has a badge with a number (indicating amount of titles reduced/on sale) which you then can view straight from your wishlist.
- Perhaps a similar reminder system in Community groups for organising matches / clan battles.
- Download management for home client ( preload new games / start update downloads or patches remotely from phone )
- In built trading + gift area in APP, where you can view your inventory + gifts and use accordingly. Initiate trading with friends - security wise any trade commencement with another friend on the mobile app should prompt steam password to proceed. ( stopping otherwise easy access from friends / random people gifting themselves things should they get access to your phone ).
Anyways love it so far - and know it will only get better...
