CD-key do not work store bought

I bought my copy of the game in a store "NOT ONLINE" and the CD-Keys do not work. I read the cdkey forum but thats only for online bought copies. How can I get a new key to activate my product thru steam?

PS-unrealted issue. Its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that login to forums has to be different then logging into steam itself.

OK so I found another topic saying you can NOT put a store bought copy in steam. Who in their right mind would buy a game a 2nd time. This game wasnt even worth the 1st price I payed. Why is it that it seems Microsoft is like 10 years behind in the video gaming industry? They should just give up and use those imployees to help make my windows crash less often...

If you have a retail copy recently purchased and are receiving an issue with your CD key during the installation process, please contact Microsoft by phone:

The retail copies cannot be activated on Steam at this time.
