Looks alright, but I've heard mediocre things. Anyone give it a go?

yeah, good fun.
I have a couple of hours with the game and enjoying it for the most part. Multiplay is bit quiet so far - price point and not having a topic here on the day it was released probably guaranteed a handful sales only unfortunately, but the Single player part has more than enough variety in content to keep one busy for quite a bit of time.
Racing arcade style only and works just fine with a keyboard if one is too lazy to plug a controller in.
I'm confident i'll get $25 worth of enjoyment out of this. It is better than any of the other arcaders that hit the forums the past couple of months. especially flatfoot 3

I have been waiting for Steam to add a forum for this game, and to add a link to it on the store page, ever since release. I agree that not having one (and also there not being a demo) probably severely limited sales. This game looks fun, but I am not going to risk spending £23 and then finding I've purchased another dud.

Glad to see there is finally a forum for this game.
Bought it on sale about a week ago, having a good time with it. Would be nice if it had some instructions/guide..... I figured out how to drive (arrow keys), but as for customizing the vehicles and if there are any "options" for set up, such as changing keys/controls etc. Went to web site and it's in another language....
Haven't tried the multi yet, but having fun with single/arcade
BTW, been playing about a week without problems and last night while playing, the screen went blank.... could still here the sound.... while I believe it's probably my graphics card (had similar problem a while back with UT3) I have no problems with UT3 or any others, happened twice.... last time it happened, ended up being a few fine hairs wrapped around the fan and it was enough to slow it down...
anyone else having any problems ?

Can anyone compare it to 1sane? That game had great physics, destruction/damage, and a fun and somewhat realistic handling model.

Its nothing like that. Its extremely dumbed down compared to the first Insane, and in fact seems to lack any sort of physics. It's highly arcade, and quite frankly you can easily tell its a budget game.

Sweet, skipping this one. Thanks

I hope they release a demo, I'm a fan of this type of games.

I never played 1nsane, so I can't compare but I'm really enjoying the game. The graphics are nice, it runs good and if you have a controller it's all good to play. If you like games like Motorstorm or even the more recent Dirt games, you'll probably enjoy this - it's just a whole lot of off-road racing, with a good handful of modes to keep it interesting like CTF and there's a reasonable variety of different vehicles and they all handle differently. It's very arcadey which I don't mind and a big plus IMO is the lengthy career mode, you can upgrade your cars and all that jazz.
I think it's good and the price-tag is reasonable.

Well, it's a decent, fun game.
I was a hardcore player of the first 1nsane, I played it until 2 or 3 years ago, and it's from 2001, I guess, so yes, I liked it a lot, mostly because of the extensive modding community. It was a extremely fun game, with awesome physics. Some features were repetead in this sequel, others not.
The game modes are still the same: capture/return the flag, jamboree, offroad race, etc., so who enjoyed the first game's playing dynamics will feel themselves at home. Even the cars resemble the old ones, but with different names and a slight makeup. It's a faster game, with great graphics and runs incredibly smooth, it will fit nicely to any computer.
The physics SHOULD be the same, but unfortunately they were a bit dumbed down, as said above. You can still feel the difference between the cars pretty well, and they do behave according to their own style, but I don't know, I have that feeling it could, and should, be better.
I haven't tried multiplayer yet, it seems like one has bought the game yet, but if someone there wants to give a try, drop me a message here.

I was a big fan of the original INSANE, so I had to get Insane 2 (while it was £20) just out of hope.
The audio didn't work, but i reinstalled the latest DirectX and that solved the problem.
It doesn't see either of my usb joypads (I think maybe it will work with an xBox controller (as that is what the config page shows) - no info on compatable joypads etc.
There doesn't appear to be any support !!
Official site - http://russobit-m.com/catalogue/item/insane2/
Targem Games - http://eng.targem.ru/
I've emailed both about joypads but no reply.
OK - so in game,...
BAD POINTS !..
Doesn't see either of my usb joypads SO keyboard only.
There's no free-roam or practise which is STER-YUPID !!
There's no gradual damage as in the original, so you race at full speed until you wipe out - then you automatically get fixed (takes about 3 seconds from when you wipe out).
I haven't seen any random map generator, i don't think it has one.
I don't think there is the possibility of user maps (I was looking forward to converting some of my maps for the original :)
Very limited vehicle setup config.
GOOD POINTS !..
The graphics are SER-WEEET! - I'm running max everything at 1920x1200
It has a turbo/nitrousy/rocket 'Boost' button
some levels have AI objects (like trains, trucks, rhino's, etc,... yes I said Rhino's!)
You can drive anywhere.
modes i've played so far are ORR, Jamboree, Spotlight (where you have to stay in the spotlight of a helicopter), Helidrop (where you have to hit boxes dropped by a Helicopter), and Knockout (where you win by being the last one standing).
It also has CTF, RTF, Pathfinder, Gate Hunt, Greed, and Zone Patrol.
Graphics are awesome !
Yes there is online multi player, i played a few ORR's the other night, just as much a rush as the original but with way better graphics. It needs at least 2 human players to start (it can fill up the slots with AI drivers
There's also 2 Player split screen mode but you need a compatable joypad (whatever that is!)
graphics are lush (did i mention the graphics?)
My Opinion so far,...
Yeah, it's a fun arcade game if you can get your joypad to work or don't mind using a keyboard. The old modes (ORR, CTF, etc) are very reminiscent of the original Insane and the new modes expand on that, but they should have talked to players of the original game - they could have made this so much better.
If they can offer at least some basic support, then this could catch on,.. if people hear about it :)

Yes there is online multi player (and all the vehicles are available in multi player) but I haven't found any servers. I tried to start my own but I guess no one else was looking for a server at the time and it needs at least 2 human players to start (it can fill up the slots with AI drivers).
If they sort out the servers (or maybe it just needs time for more online players to be on at the same time), and if they can offer at least some basic support, then it could be viable. Until then this is a £12 selling for £24 !
If you want multiplayer, join our Steam community group mate :) "Insane 2 - Active Players". Events are set up every weekend and there's plenty of people who are wanting to play in the group

The game is fun, but I lost interest really fast. It has some unique modes and really isn't a bad game... I don't know it just old fast I guess.
For 30 bucks I'd pass (wish I knew before I spend 25). For 10 bucks I'd bite.

It's garbage compared to the first game. I got bored of it within a few hours while the first kept my attention for years, especially with the mods it has.
