The update removed sonic.exe and added sonic_vis.exe and sonic_xp.exe.

The configuration was reset, so the player must run the configuration tool before trying to run the game.

With the new executables, the previous save file won't work unless the player manually renames the save. In the game folder (c:\program files\steam\steamapps\common\sonic the hedgehog 4 ep 1) those who have windows vista or windows 7 must rename sonic_save.dat to sonic_vis_save.dat. Most likely those who have windows xp must rename it to sonic_xp_save.dat, but since I don't have windows xp, I can't test that.

Other than this, it doesn't seem there's been any other changes.

The update fixed the fullscreen crash for me (only worked in windowed mode until now), nice!
Thanks for the tip with the savegames, tried it on XP and it works too :) .

The patch also fixed some speed issues on my lower-end laptop. The game always played a bit slower for me. NO MORE!

Alt Tabbing is working fine for me now aswell, where it crashed before

Also getting some improved preformance.
