Why am I getting email from Perfectworld?

I just received email from Perfectworld about Star Trek Online's 2nd anniversary. The email says at the end:
You are receiving this email because you have opted in at http://www.startrekonline.comI've never signed up for STO. Never played it. So I'm not entirely sure how I "opted" into anything here.

Is this a result of it going F2P on Steam?
