Time to discuss what could be the greatest super hero movie of all time. (And don't bring up that Dark Knight crime thiller) You can't compare them. No one in the latest Batman movies even has supernatural powers.
The Marvel movies are more comic related thus, The Avengers will be the greatest Comic book movie ever. Of course this is all my opinion. But I will stand by it.
This is the long version that wasn't shown on TV. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=bGt-saFvkNk)
My nipples exploded with joy.

Perhaps change the title to something more specific... Very misleading.
If you're just linking a trailer for the sake of it you may aswell post it in http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2525433

Oh hell yes.
I didn't think anything would get me to be more excited for something more than the current Batman movies.
You have several years of buildup with Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, and Capt America. Top it off with Joss Whedon at the helm?!?!? If the world ends this year for reals it should be right after I see this movie!

My titles is pretty self explanatory. I want a discussion on this. I don't want it getting lost in that cesspool of randomness you call the videos thread.
On topic, I screen capped a picture of the Hulk. 1080p, still a big fuzzy though. :D (http://i42.tinypic.com/fp2wyb.jpg)

I still think Captain Americas costume looks tacky. The material and colour ( should be more darker ) just make him look like an oversized action figure.
Also, I find Thor the only one who looks out of place there. I can't quite put my fingure on it, probably also down to such childish orientated costume. The actor is also quite bad, as evident by the recent fail of Thor movie.
Only one's I care for are Iron Man and Hulk. Loved their movies and they are depicted just right.

I still stand by Watchmen as being the best.

I didn't like the Noire feel mixed with comics. I know its meant to be the films main feature but it just didn't do it for me.
I'll stick with the recent Batman movies (loved both). After seeing every othe Batman film on TV I never would have imagined it possible for a comic to be so dark. Specially after seeing joker in older films all in florescent bright colours, always behaving as if he just got laid the night before. Dark Knight version of joker was sickening, made you actually think ' what the hell is wrong with this dude '.

I'm not familiar with all of these characters, meaning the archer and the lady, who stand out to me as being relatively useless compared to the other guys.

The guy with the bow is Hawkeye. An extremely skilled Archer who has taken down the Hulk using special arrows. Do not let looks deceive you.
Black Widow on the other hand, she's more of stealth operative with amazing hand to hand combat skills. Not sure what she can do here but still.
From wiki-
"The Black Widow is a world class athlete and gymnast, expert martial artist (including karate, judo, aikido, savate, various styles of kung fu, and boxing), marksman, and weapons specialist as well as having extensive espionage training. "
As a marksman and weapons specialist their might be quite a bit she can do. Especially if she get's her hands on alien weapons.
Also, The Black Widow has been enhanced by biotechnology that makes her body resistant to aging and disease and heals at an above human rate.

Meh, it looks okay, nothing special. For some reason, all these Marvel movies to me are really cheesy compared to say the latest Batman movies.

Agreed, but not all. Iron Man and Hulk (Edward Norton one) were decent IMO.

They are supposed to be though.
Comparing Nolan's Dark Knight films to The Avengers' films (Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Capt America) is unfair. They are different genres.
Nolan got inspiration for his films from crime, psychological thrillers. He's kept the films grounded and serious. Almost no comic book/supernatural elements remain. That works because it adds weight to the dark themes of the stories and characters in his films.
The Marvel universe/Avengers films have kept the comic book elements in place. The comedy, outlandish characters, and energy from the comics remain. That works because it's lighter material and keeps the audience entertained.
Completely different film experiences.
I'm going to see both films and I hope to like both films. I don't expect to leave the theater in a festive mood after seeing "Dark Knight Rises". I do however expect to feel good after leaving "The Avengers".

Comparing a comic book movie to another comic book movie is completely fair. This idea that everything is apples and oranges just to save face is getting out of hand.
As for the trailer......I agree. Everything looks cool except Scarlet Johanson.

Ok so every horror movie is exactly the same.
Every first person shooter is exactly like COD.
You have to compare or you might as well put it all in one pot and say their is no variation whatsoever.
