Can't take a skill a skill at level up for some reason

Hey. What the title says. For some reason a sage character of mine can't take flamewall when he levels. He has all the requirements as far as I can tell. Level, skill points, prerequisite abilities a;; there. It just refuses to let me put any points in it. Can anyone shed some light on this? The hero is "Phibius" if that helps any.

Trying to add points during winter or other seasons?

Yeah it's during the winter (level up) season. For some reason after waiting a day it works. Although I've encountered the same problem with another hero since then. Also with the flame wall spell. I guess it's as simple to fix as exiting out and coming back... shrug.
