View Full Version : Re-uploading other peoples mods in "private", as a personal library?

So, I just figured out a question I imagine will pop up at more places than my head soon.

Say that I have a bunch of mods that I always use, through all installs, but all of the authors dont put them on the Workshop. Would I then be allowed to upload those the Workshop, but marked as "Private" (Only me being able to view them), to create a personal library of the mods I use?

Technically, I'm not stealing anyones work, as its pretty much like me storing them on my harddrive, but doing it on Steam instead. Only I would see them, and itd make things a lot easier for me during re-installs.

Thoughts?

I'm willing to bet most of the mods you use will be ported over to the Workshop by the authors. If not, however, I don't see why what you're asking would be a problem.

Me neither, but I could totally see me getting banned because of it or something, with my regular luck..
