Getting out of Darkness mode?

Am i just stupid or is there really no way to "holster" the darkness like in the first game?

Since it doesn't have the same game format as the first game, there is no reason they would have that in the game. You had a reasonable amount of freedom in the first game, but this one is lacking that running around aspect I liked so much in the first game. It's just mission interspersed with story. So, no darkness holstering.

No, you can't. It would be a fun touch I suppose, but there is no gameplay reason to do it. This game doesn't have the pseudo-open areas that the original did. I'm not making a judgement on whether that's good or bad, it's just a different kind of game. That functionality isn't necessary in Darkness II.
