I just rebuilt my comp..new motherboard, video card, more than what the game needs to run. But i only have 4g of ram. The game plays very well, but i still get get dropped out the the desktop with out any warning or why it happen. Is my mem to low?:confused:

No, Skyrim cannot use more than 4gb of ram, and I personally have never seen it eat up more than half my ram (I have 8gb).
Edit: That is to say I have not seen it get near the 4gb limit.

If building g a new PC in 2012, you should be including a 64 bit OS and 8 gb ram. Ram is the cheapest component. No sense in skimping with 4 gb. Do what I say and your crashes will disappear.

Well that isn't quite true... Skyrim still does crash to desktop unexpectedly no matter how much RAM you have. Increasing the RAM will not cause the crashes to disappear but it may make them less frequent.
For what it is worth, I have 12Gb RAM and a 64-bit OS and I still get crashes to the desktop.

one of the signature bugs from bethesda games are CTDs (similar to BSOD of windows), many fixes are tried but nothing ever really makes it completely disappear, even I have the occasional crash without message.
