Horrible frame rates

So...I can run Skyrim at max settings with no drop in frame rates. Jedi Academy, a game that is eight years old, on the other hand...15 frames per second on average. How does that work?!

New drivers aren't optimized for older games. Many games run worse on new cards.

It's not just Jedi Academy. Other examples are Dungeon Siege, Rome Total War, Neverwinter Nights... list goes on.

All you can do is bring it to the attention of your graphic card maker (nvidia or ati) and if they think it's important enough they might include a workaround/fix in their next driver.

What aa settings are you using btw? I run the game at minimal aa as (as you've noticed) despite the age of the game it runs pretty badly.

Still with 4x aa i get mostly 60fps not 15. What is your graphic card and driver?
