Felt the same way the first time i played it on the 360. Thats why i bought another copy today on steam this game rocks.

It's pretty damn good but I think other action/horror games have been better such as Dead Space 1 and 2.

Not as eerie as Silent, not as scary as Dead Space but these are good things. SH was just too scary for it's own good and DS relies more on jump scares rather than psycological scares.

Prettier now than it was when first released (thank you PC gaming. Just as pretty as the best PC games out there, albeit with alot less color, though that was the art direction they were going for. Gameplay contorls awesome with a controller, sorta broken with M+KB as a result of acceleration.

With the exception of the shadows taking up alot of resource, everything else seems to be well optimized.

I honest like it more then the last two RE games (4 and) and any of the last Silent Hill games (only liked SH 1 and 3, the last one was garbage).

Yea been long since there has been a game with a real dark story, I got scared so many times last night. Playing with headphones is a must!

Yes, it's definitely in my top 10 games of all time. I already own it the 360, but I just HAD to buy it for the PC too. Never bought the DLC for the 360 version, so at least I have something to look forward to.

Also, there's actually a live action mini-series that goes along with the plot of the game out there too. I'm not sure if it's on Youtube or what, but I know it's available to watch for free on the 360.

I would dare to say that it is the best horror game of this type since Silent Hill 2 released 10 years ago. It has a great story, extremely good writing, runs amazingly, is incredibly fun, and is just overall a great game.

I totally agree! This game is great. The graphics are really nice, more than that the story is awesome! I have been playing it for about 5 hours and the funny part is this the only time my girlfriend has sat down next to me for an hour or more of that time and just watched me play.
She isnt at all interested in action games, the only ones she plays are puzzle, word, crosswords on her phone, nook, ipad, etc. So to have her enthralled with this game like that shows how engrossing the story, plot, twists and turns can just grab you.
Also, my system intel 2600k @4.5GHz w/2X ATI 6950's in crossfire and it runs so smooth and great.

I too love the game...Very nice atmosphere..Not a run and gun but more of a story. I like the episode format too.

One question though. I end up firing alot of rounds at targets and I think it may be my technique. Is the idea to super shine the light on them until the (shield) is gone and then fire or fire and shine on them at same time?

When you shine your light on them, there will be a circle that starts to get smaller and smaller the more you shine em. When the shields fall, you should hear like a "pop" sorta sound and the circle will be gone. I think they also kinda stagger too.

When they don't have any dark matter around them and look totally human.If you watch closely you will notice a slight snap to the light right at the time they turn normal.
