Texture resolution could have been better but I've seen worse. However, I was surprised by grass being drawn 3 meters in front of your feet. This looks just horrible. (max settings) Any way to improve this ?

yeah on the official forum they claim they more than doubled the draw distances of the xbox version however to me its still really close, perhaps the sliders are broken cause i went from high to low and it looked the same its still looks alright tho

Don't know bout you guys, but it gives me the heebiejeebies when them grass appear just a few metres away from me. That and those silhouted signs that looke like people from afar.

I too would like the LOD to extend farther. It's really only noticeable during daytime though.

The grass draw distance is not affected by the slider. It was a bit more complicated operation to do, as the grass is generated on the fly, so it will require also more CPU power. We may consider adding it to the draw distance slider in a future patch.

My Core i7-980X has the same issues so not sure how much CPU power you would need for this

What Markus meant was that at one point during production they had to decide how far from the camera the grass would be displayed at. Since the grass draw distance isn't set by the draw distance or LOD sliders, it means the value is the same for all players. And they certainly decided to set it quite low so it would work well with most CPUs...

The grass fading/popping in close is a bit of a minor disappointment IMO as I expected it to me much further out. I've also noticed the hills and rocks switching LOD not that far from Wake regardless of whether the LOD setting is set to 0% or 100%. The LOD is especially noticeable during the daytime driving sections.
