strange camera angle making it hard to enjoy?

so i played this a bit at my friends house last night
and i had to stop after a few minutes.

the camera angle is so strange, the character is slightly to the right of center.
so you're always running to the left unless you angle your mouse.

is the whole game like that? :confused:
i only played the first 5 or 10 minutes

Don't focus on Alan, focus on the beam of light.

The camera when playing Alan Wake = perfect for me. The flashlight guiding, and making the camera follow you at a normal/precise angle gets the job done.

However, the camera angle when you're driving.... lol, it's pretty bad. It pretty much just does a 360 quick zoom when you turn it left and right. Camera angle goes haywire when you're in a vehicle, but other than that, it's fine, you're just nit-picking.

Many of us had issues with the camera at first. But after an hour or so, you'll get used to it if you try to not focus on your character himself. It is a really cinematic camera that I wish more games would use.

that really got me for the first few minutes, then I tabbed to get him to the other side and that really helps.

This was tricking me up too, especially in the early stuff around the town in Bright Falls. As the others say, treating the point of the flashlight beam as a traditional reticle helps a lot.

You can change the camera position to left side too. Hit tabulator (above capslock). Sadly you can't make it right behind you.

The camera is strange indeed the first time you play. After an hour you'll get used to it and it won't give you any problems.
