Just as you are about to ascend the final path up the the aerial, you go through a gate with a sign on it saying:

Danger
Unauthorized
Personnel
Keep Out

The thing is, this sign is on the INSIDE of the gate, ie if the gate was shut you could only read it when coming down the steps FROM the aerial

Look here at 14:36

Thanks to Shadee for pointing this out in his commentary - I'd seen it a number of times on my own playthoughs but I didn't think of it that way.

Is it a mistake?

A confused memory by the narrator?

Or a warning that the rest of the island is the dangerous place ......... ?

maybe they just made it like that cos the gate is a static object

or maybe its a "sign" :(

I'd imagine that was more of a basic case of "if it were mounted properly to the fence it'd not be readable." A strictly aesthetic choice, IOW.

If the Island is the narrators mind, and I beleive it is, as its crammed with memories, regrets etc, then the beacon could be the way in.. so it could well be a warning against anyone trying to enter. Isnt there dialogue along the lines of I paint white lines to keep any possible resuer out?

So he may have blocked all attempts to bring him out of his unconscious state as he lets go to join Esther.(who we assume is dead in the crash)

It's the wrong spelling of "Unauthorized" and not the style of danger sign that is used in Scotland/UK. I love everything else about this game but.. arrgh! :)

Yeah, my reaction to it was, "Oh come one!".
