I'm still debating if I should get the game or not so I wanted feedback from people who actually have played the final game and not just the beta.

I'm under the impression from what I read, and the videos I have seen, that there is no real basebuilding save for a FOB. But while there may not be barracks and vehicle factories, I was wondering if that meant there were not even defensive structures such as pillboxes, trenches, etc? Also can infantry garrison civilian structures on maps?

While I loved World In Conflict, I liked RUSE more. I'm also a big fan of games like Company of Heroes. I did not, on the other hand like End War. I'm a heavily defensive player whose favorite strategy is a "Leap-frog/Creeping Defense" (thus having the advantage of falling back on the German WW2 strategy of withdrawing from one defensive line to the next) and like to employ heavy armor en masse for a Steamroller.

I also heard that vs CPU was only available for 1v1 and I wanted to know if it was possible to do:
1v2cpu or 2v2cpu

I'm just trying to figure out if I should at least give Wargame a chance or wait for it to fall to $19?

there are no build-able structures outside of your FOB at the beginning of the match. that being said, infantry can be garrisoned in buildings, and defensive play is very possible. forests and range conceal your units, so it is possible to build up defensible positions. however , enemy artillery will always pose a threat, especially if you stick a ton of units in one spot and don't move them.

The game play is very strategic, and positioning is very important. also important is having the proper units to defend your main forces, a horde of tanks will quickly be eaten alive by choppers for example , unless protected by AA.

As of right now only 1v1 with the AI is possible, at least in a skirmish. in the campaign i believe you have AI allies at different points.

And as for giving it a chance, i love the game. It plays a good role as an rts that doesn't focus on base building. i really don't like an rts where the victor is determined by who can spam out more units than the next guy ,with wargame EE its all about strategy rather than spamming. Quality strategy and units can and does win against quantity.

Meh...the lack of defensive emplacements rules out a lot particularly because doing defense the way you say in a game like this means that I'm using popcap for defense thus lowering the ammount of heavy armor I can field.

Thats extremely disappointing. Guess I'll have to hope they come around in time for the next game. I should have known better though. Removing base building killed the DoW series too (Not to mention C&C4).

Let me put it this way.

This is not a defense:

THIS is a defense:

If this game something like World in Conflict? Man, I love that game infact I get it 2 years after it's release and MP wasn't in it's glory, but still was enjoyable.

@ElizLestrad:

Defenses are built IRL. This means that it takes time. The lengh of a game is too short for fixed defences to be in place.

If it was otherwise, afghanistan would be trenches and reinforced walls every 100m, every place a firefight took place.

Just sayin'
