Your friend might consider buying at greenman gaming instead. It's £19.99 over there (http://www.greenmangaming.co.uk/games/action/the-lord-of-the-rings-war-in-the-north/) (and you just missed a sale), at least in my region this is cheaper than 25% off. And it can be redeemed on steam without any problem.
