Very laggy

No matter what server i will join the game will be extreamly laggy to the point where its unplayable and the world wont load, i dont have this problem at my friends house (he doesnt have a better internet speed).
Is there anyway i can prevent this??

Try it in the browser instead of through steam.

I know what you mean too, SOME REASON my gaming computer doesn't like flash but this other POS computer I got as a backup it works pretty flawlessly in it. I mean this computer runs it OK but FPS does dip.
