I am having problems starting Rome Total War: Gold Edition. I have searched for 2 hours but haven't even found anybody with the same problem as me.
When i start the game, it appears to be fine. The creative assembly splash screen appears. But when the CA Logo disappears, the screen stays black. The steam menu comes up with the CD key and letting me know I can press Shift+Tab but that freezes also. I am stuck looking at a black screen with the steam UI frozen on the side.
I have not played in a couple of months but my PC can run this game fine. I can run this maxed out with 60+ FPS. I would like to be able to fix this problem because this is a great game. Any help is appreciated.
