I wonder if Medieval and Rome are realy only in English on Steam.
I thought there is also a German Version on Steam.

Any German Speaking out there who knows it?

I do not speak German, however I have looked into the issue anyways with a large amount of help from Google Translate.

From what I understand, the Steam version of M2:TW is English only. However, apparently some users have put together and/or found German language files which may be helpful.

You can read the thread (http://board.gulli.com/thread/1065226-medieval-2-auf-deutsch-umstellen/) for yourself if you want. The language file is in the last post.

Google Translate wasn't as helpful as I had hoped, but I'm pretty sure that the other users on that forum were upset because the OP was posting about a thoroughly discussed topic without using the search function. That led me to skim a lot of the text because it seemed as though they were bickering. By the end of the thread it appears as if a solution was found:

Auch wenn das thema hier schon etwas älter ist, werd ich das hier mal posten. Vielleicht hilft es den einen oder anderen noch mal irgendwann.

Es gibt da eine Datei im Ordner Packs, im Hauptverzeichnis von Medeival II.
Auch bei der Steam Version.
Hatte das Problem bis eben auch noch.

Die Datei runterladen und dann die Datei localized.pack überschreiben.

Google Translate:

Even if the topic is older here, I'll post the times here. Maybe it will help one or the other again sometime.

There's a file in the pack, in the main directory of medeival II
Even with the steam version.
Had the problem until just still.

Download the file and then overwrite the file localized.pack.

Sorry if that was an absolutely useless link. Again, most of what they said couldn't be translated. Let us know how it goes.

I know what you mean. It's such a small fix, you would wonder why CA didn't include it with the Steam version to begin with. Hope it works out for you.

Glad I could help.
