Despite it being force fed to me 3 times in a row I decided I'd check it out, apparently it was not to be ignored :D

I'm glad I did, in the 30 minutes I played into it and the fact that it has 4 player local co-op drop in / drop out system makes this game very win on many levels from a parents point of view.

I'm a father of two 9 year old boys, they love stuff like Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones. That and the fact that they love gaming with me I can only see the sheer volume of laughs and good times that this game has to offer.

The handling is good for this type of game and you can set up either keyboard play or controller. The graphics totally play into my inner child's need to watch cartoons :D

I have no idea how long this game considering 60 levels but if it has decent length then this game is going to be a winner.

Honestly beyond that, the mouth harp won me over. Talented music in the game as well.

Of course you have to overlook that this game is created by Ubisoft and their ridiculous DRM tactics of the past. Apparently they are changing that as well to a one time activation online and then you can play their games offline beginning with Assassins Creed: Revelations. It really doesn't look like anything sweetens the pot for pre-ordering so if you want it now I'd recommend it but if you want to wait for a price drop that's seems legitimate too.

Edit: Apparently you get Rayman 2 for pre-order and there is 0% DRM in this game.

Length wise I hear it's around 15 hours if you just play it to get to the end

What i hate in the Demo: Its very unforgiving. You get 1 hit 1 (2 with the heart) and you have to play everything since the last checkpoint again. They should have made the health system like in the first rayman game. 3 hits standard, 5 hits with super health. Its just a method to stretch the playtime and gets really annoying sometimes, especially in combination with the silly music.

Can't agree with you. It's good that this game IS unforgiving to some degree - that you have to watch out what you're doing.. and not simply rush through all those levels, cause you can just walk through enemies that often. I think those checkpoints are set generous enough.
It's just my opinion, but in the old days games were hard - and you remember every bit of it if you finally get to the end. I miss this in nowadays games, they're just all to easy - not only because you just CAN'T DIE anymore.. even in this game you can't die. Would appreciate a 'life counter', so you can just respawn that often at a checkpoint before restarting the level - but that's, as I said, just my opinion - I love good and difficult games.

And by the way the music is amazing, it fits and supports the awesome atmosphere quite well :P

Apparently this isn't a game for you then. People enjoy the challenge and it's only going to get harder after the demo parts, which is good for the people that like a game that isn't too easy. It's bad enough that most games are so incredibly easy nowadays. Sometimes it feels like game designers are trying to make the games just hard enough that somebody who's been banging his head against the wall for the last 15 years can play through them without dying once on the hardest setting. Good to see some hardcore oldschool 2d platformers coming back in a big bad way.

Music has always been an integral part of Rayman and I'm glad that this game is no exception.

The music and the artwork make the game in my opinion.

I don't care so much that its by Ubisoft or that it takes several tries to pass a particular part because these are minor drawbacks.

Man that last demo level Murray of the deep or something like that really liked kicking my a s s but I have to agree that I was very satisfied with the demo and I did eventually beat it 3 hours later :D

Great stuff. Definetly worth checking out.
