Account Registration Fails?!

Hey all,

I just bought the Rebellion beta and installed it but when I launch it I get a GUI to register. For Rebellion I fill it in and this spinning logo comes up and just keeps spinning forever.

Then I tried to register Trinity. I fill out the info and press the "Register" button and nothing happens.

I even went directly to the Stardock page and successfully registered there but Steam keeps asking me to register the game at startup and I can't get past that for either game. Anyone know how to fix this? I checked the Stardock technical forums without much luck. Thanks.

When I did it I got an activation successful message then followed by the failed message but I still got into the game. Have you tried to push through it?

Thanks for your response. Here's how it works for me:

Rebellion: Spinning logo that never comes back, I've waited 45 minutes, turned off my firewall, etc.

Trinity: I press the button to register and nothing happens. The button changes color for the time that my mouse button is down on the button, but once I release the color returns to normal.

So unfortunately there's nothing for me to "push through" at this point.

I have been having the same issues. I am using the Windows 8 Developers Preview if that helps.

x64? I'm dual booting Windows 7 x64 and Windows 8 Consumer Preview (not Developer Preview) and neither work. I loaded Windows XP 32-bit onto a virtual machine and it works from there. Of course I can't play it from there, but the registration does work. So I don't know if it's a 32 vs 64 bit issue or what. Stardock support seems baffled too. Wow this is disappointing, I've been waiting months to play Rebellion after playing SOSE for hundreds of hours. As of now I can play neither.

Try browsing to your "Steam\steamapps\common\sins of a solar empire rebellion" folder, and running sdactivate.exe as admin manually. Remember that the login is your email address used to purchase the game.

Running it manually does nothing, it doesn't launch at all no matter how I run it. With admin rights, without admin rights, compatibility mode, etc.

My password is working just fine, I can login at that Stardock website just fine. Also, I was able to register from a Windows XP 32bit virtual image, so there's nothing wrong with my login information.

I have the exact same problem as you. I posted my problem on stardock forum.

I found out that my anti-virus software (avast) was affecting the Stardock Account Registration. So I deactivated anti-virus for the registration process and now it works!!!
