Boss after the cave puzzles (final boss?)

I've opened both the left/right hatches, I went up and opened the trap door. I killed the only 2 killable enemies.

Now what? The boss doesn't fall through the trap door and I've literally put all of his fire out 15 times above the trap door. I honestly can't think of anything left to try.

Did you learn what each button that the 2 accessible fluros accomplished? It may be hard to notice what the right most one does, but if you focus on the 4 moves the boss can do (move left, move right, clap hands above, and dissolve down), you might be able to figure out how to make him interact with that now revealed grating.

Once you do that, isn't there something big and interesting to look at?

Already dropped him through the grate, what now? Can't make him walk left it seems, can't go down there to do anything to him. Nothing else to interact with.

I had an issue the first time I did the boss. I think once he went through the grate to the bottom, I hit "DISSOLVE" again and then no matter what I did no other commands worked. I reset puzzle, and it worked the next time. I was able to issue the "WALK" order to kill him.
