That's cheaper than I've ever seen Steam sell it for. The folks at Amazon were even nice enough to upgrade their version to include the DRM removal patch by Larian.

As they only sell the DRM free version of the game, it does not activate on Steam.

Worth the six bucks? I'm considering...Anything similar to compare it too?

I typically like RPGs and MMOs, but weirdly can never get into anything Bethesda does.

I bought it and can't get it to load. It gets to about a 95% extraction level and freezes on an adobe reader file...

Let it keep going, go take a shower or eat dinner, come back and it will be done.

So now I have to ask the obvious question here. Is it worth the $6? I bought the original Divinity 2 (not the DKS version) because I loved the first two games (Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity) but found it to be a very poor sequel.

So how is this Dragon Knight Saga? Has it changed the game for the better?
Is it as buggy as the original product (Divinity 2)?

Did they do something about the missing dialogue (it cut in and out during some parts)?

Is the combat still clumsy (the targeting was horrible last I played)?

That is all for now. Those were my biggest concerns with the game the first time I gave it a shot.

That is all for now. Those were my biggest concerns with the game the first time I gave it a shot. I never played the original but there is still missing dialogue - it was noticeable early on. The combat is clumsy (really the pace of the combat is too fast, it's almost a blur) Can't speak for the bugs as I just got started.

Still at $6 it seems worth it so far.

Wow good to see the game is still buggy as hell.

I had to patch it as soon as it downloaded because the game kept loading into a black screen. On the off chance that it would load, I would have invisible NPC's attack me. It had nothing to do with my GPU driver, which was up to date.

The latest game patch fixed all these issues and the game is playable. I am about 4 hours into it and like it quite a bit, but the bugs! THE BUUUGS! I still have no idea why they wouldn't update their digital download version to include the latest fixes.

Granted there seems to be no official Steam news about a DRM free patch, but this thread seems to indicate otherwise...

Would be nice if someone from Steam could comment. Yeah... I know... wishful thinking. :)

You should either probably uninstall/re-install Adobe Reader or getting the latest upgrade from Adobe.com. I'm not sure what the problem is there and I've read of a few people on different forums having the same issue with the Amazon edition. I had the most current edition/update of Adobe reader installed and even tried installing an earlier edition (to no avail) before it was recommended to just wait out the delay in the installation process. Oh well - it works now and I just got my dragon's wings.

Thuglyfe is saying that Steam itself is DRM, therefore it's a bit of a contradiction to call a game on Steam DRM free. Not that anyone on a Steam forum would be bothered by that though. Amazingly enough, most people around here seem to prefer Steamworks to no DRM at all.

What I believe you meant is that the Steam version is Securom free, which is correct. All information about the game having Securom and limited activations was removed from the store page after the last patch.

The Steam version is also $40, and the most I've ever seen it go on sale for is $10 over the holidays. I hope everyone who enjoys RPGs takes a good look at the Amazon sale because it's the cheapest I've ever seen this game, and Amazon is one of only two distributors who has conveniently pre=applied the developer's DRM/Securom removal patch.
