ToW2 Multiplayer

I was thinking about getting this collection for ToW2 as I like that time of WWII, but I was curious if the Multiplayer is any good and if there are still some active players in it? I know this is more of a tactical game not a straight out RTS. I just enjoy playing people more then the CPU.
