I know it's got a few graphical improvements, but is it more stable than the regular one? I love Majesty but it crashed a lot when I got it on steam, and I'm hoping this new release plays better.

The most apparent change is the resolution support. The graphics are the same as far as I can see. There has been significant changes in the game files, so it probably runs better. I haven't had any issues so far anyway.

So, since nobody has responded on my topic about it and this is pretty close: Should I just uninstall the original game and play the new one? Or is there some reason to keep the original?

Do you really need someone's opinion on this? :s
It's basically the same game, so I'd say it would be safe.

Not really an opinion. I haven't had the chance/time to play Majesty Gold yet so I have no clue at all what the game contains, HD or not. If there was something in the original that didn't make it to the HD version, I wouldn't know. The store page for the original doesn't even exist anymore, so there's no easy way for me to check.

Just wanted to make sure there was nothing I'd be missing, which from your response I'm assuming there isn't.

Just apparently larger resolution support which is good because it allows one to see more of the map.

Though I can't say if its any better or not as it appears to suffer from the same DirectDraw2D problem that the original Majesty suffered from, so you will have problems running the game on newer machines. So although it does allow for better resolutions, if you can't run it on a newer machine is doesn't make much of a difference. Oddly though, the game will run on my computer bought back in 2007 running Win7 64bit, but won't run on my computer bought back in 2011 running Win7 64bit.

I would love it if they managed to make a mod tools for the game... or at least an archiver that can access those bloody .cam files and let someone else make the actual tools. As anyone would find out, you can't open those .cam files without a very specific .cam archiver to do it.
