View Full Version : Is the Steam version of Hitman 2 censored?

Looked around a bit and found that some versions of the game had one or more levels in India removed because of some stupid controversy. Are they in this version of the game? And are there any other reasons not to get the Steam version?

Over three hundred views, and still no answer? Someone has to know.

hmm... I think there was some copyright problems with a song that was in the game. The licence couldn't be renewed or some nonsense...

Actually, that's about the third game, Contracts. The title of Hitman 2 is Silent Assassin. SA is already on Steam; I just want to know if it's the version with a level removed.

oh right. :D Sorry for that - should have read more carefully... :P
Couldn't find much information about it.
But I believe it's most likely the censored version since Eidos promised to remove the level for all further releases. (which was 2002)

The GoG version of the game supposedly contains all the India levels, of which there apparently are three. It doesn't seem like their claim to censor all versions is true, in that case.
Can anyone that has played the game confirm if there are three levels in India?
Yes, it does, as far as I can tell.
Disclaimer: I edited the hitman2.ini to unlock all levels since I didn't have a completed save handy.

Thanks for the answer. Then it should be possible to edit the .ini to make the level accessible, in case they have disabled it normally.

All three levels are available without modifying the game.
