Access violation on Spellforce 2 Gold Edition

Just picked this game up during the sale. I can play for about 2 minutes before I get an access violation and the game crashes on me. I read something about disabling my anti virus but that didn't help in my case. The farthest I've gotten is attacking the second wolf during the tutorial on the campaign. I tried rebooting because I read another thread that someone did that and it finished downloading some files but that did not work either. I'm running windows 7 64 bit, I7-2600, Geforce 560 GTX, 8 gigs of ram.

Tried reinstalling the game, also tried playing one of the other campaigns. No luck. Still the same thing happens. The error pops up in the background. The whole game just stops. For the pop up, it doesn't give anymore information.

Try verifying your game cache. If you don't know how right click the game, click on properties, and go to local files, its right in there.

I tried that, I tried redownloading it as well. I also tried something Steam tech support suggested of deleting everything from my steam folder except for steam.exe and my apps dir, rebooting, then starting steam from the .exe and not a shortcut. It's a very odd error. I'm use to seeing some sort of message. Another odd part is it's kind of random. A lot of the times as soon as it loads the actual campaign and the intro is playing, it'll crash, but one time I actually managed to defeat 2 enemies and was applying a skill point when it finally crashed on me.

You are lucky for even getting into the game. I get the access violation error before anything else happens. Win7 64 bit here. -.-
