Legacy: Can't ask Joey for a "performance"

I'm on Day 2 and need Joey to distract Kelly so I can take the notebook. I apparently need to ask for for a performance while on the phone, but that option never comes up. I'll select every dialogue option but he still won't do it, and after that if I try to talk to him on the phone again, he won't say anything and Rosa will hang up. Is there anything I'm forgetting to do?
