View Full Version : Why does this game suddenly suck?

I went to play some Ground War on MW3 and got put in a 2 bar game. I went 1-9 before rage quitting and finding another game.

This next game was even more laggy. Most people were at 1 bars, so the game attempted to host migrate. Then it got stuck host migrating and I was at the host migration screen for about 2 minutes before it finally went back to the menu.

So I tried another playlist; maybe I'll try TDM, since a lot of people play that. When the map was loading, it went "Awaiting connection...16 Awaiting connection...17" etc. After 2 minutes again it brought me back to the menu.

I tried again, and finally got into a decent game. I had a 21 kill streak going. Suddenly, the game froze for a bit. Then I was kicked back to the menu, with the message "Lost connection to host." Now all my XP and records were lost.

I gave up and decided to play a match of Bad Company 2. After that, I returned to MW3.

My NAT type was suddenly strict. It told me to go to www.infinityward.com/nat. I went there, but the website did not load.

What the ♥♥♥♥ is going on??? And how do I get my NAT back to open?

Well then, let me try to be a nice guy and answer most of your questions :)

1) This is a popular weekend for cheaters, since there's double XP. No idea why that attracts them, since they don't have a reason to care about XP, but whatever.

2) My guess is that while the "decent game" looked decent, the host was in fact a hacker who decided it wouldn't be nice for you to get a MOAB. Or he simply thought that you're a cheater. Either way, you were most likely kicked.

3) For every little detail about how NAT works, etc, please read http://xifon.eu/mw3sa/mw3.html. To summarize it: NAT isn't really relevant for gameplay experience, unless you want to be host.

Suddenly?

This has been building up since COD4 was released.
