Hello, I'm not sure where the heck to post this :p

I've been playing TF2 for a while now and I've gotten pretty good. I've went on all different servers (non-valve) that usually have some good players, and I always end of being MVP and make my way to the top of the list very quickly. I know some people say (omfgz KD is everythang!!)...Well not really, sometimes I play supportive classes and don't get kills.

Anyway, I'm a big payload player but I am probably able to play on anything. I'm good with all classes. I can't find any clans that go out there to servers and just dominate, or competitive clans. I have found some that have set dates for battles but I'm in college and play at random times.

I need a clan that is competitive that usually has active members online that want to go to servers and just dominate :P

Yeah, well you'll need to list your best played classes, and the amount of time playin them. You'll also need to mention your location. Don't think you'll be able to hold your own in comp, even in beginner, unless you have a substantial amount of time clocked (>125 hours) on your preferred class.

You should try out a few lobbies at tf2lobby.com, see how you fare with your main class against some competition.

If you're decent, someone will likely notice quickly, and toss you an invite to their comp team.

I can assure you I have long hours and play all classes equally good because every situation calls for a different class.

Thanks! Can you tell me more about this? I never heard about this site and it looks a bit confusing. I read a little more about it and I noticed it looks like a regular site with just 6vs6 matches. Are people generally more skilled? Do you need a mic?

Thread still open by the way :P

I also noticed the servers are located in countries other than the USA, and not many people online either. Also noticed you can only be one class it looks like. :\

Competitive play has evolved over the past four years to the point where everyone knows that the competitive format (6v6) is best played with one demo, one medic, two soldiers, and two scouts (the scouts occasionally switch to other classes if needed... occasionally). It's more efficient than constantly switching class and it's definitely more effective. If you're not ok with sticking on one class, you shouldn't play competitive.

Anyway, tf2lobby is a HORRIBLE place to get into competitive play. UGC and ESEA are two good competitive leagues in the US. Go to their websites and there's a forum for people looking for teams. If you're good enough, you'll have no trouble getting on a team. ESEA is currently between seasons, so now is a perfect time to join a team.

Then it doesn't become fun if I need to stick to one class for games on end.

Well, competitive play isn't necessarily made to be "fun." If you're looking for fun, you should join a casual community and play on their pub servers. Competitive play is for people really serious about a highly competitive format where they make money if they win. I'm sure you'll also be disappointed to know that they also don't allow the use of any weapons they think are too powerful, such as atomizer, sandvich, loch n load, caber, and (in some leagues) the equalizer.

I find fun in dominating lobbies I join, and more fun with people who are like-minded that don't mind going to lobbies to help. Also, tf2lobby is full of 200 ping servers. Also notice sometimes there are no servers.

Good, what do you need competitive play for if you already have fun without it?

More fun for competitiveness, but not with 200 ping servers and crazy restrictions.

What?

I have 200 times more fun playing competitively than I do playing in pubs, and I'm sure all other comp players will agree.

Essentially you login through steam, and then you can join lobbies hosted by people.

The games tend to be a bit better than pubs because everyone is there because they want to be, and are generally going to try to play a proper team oriented game. You get trolls now and again, but you can negative rep them, along with players who are terrible to the point that they should remain on pub servers until they understand the game more (lobbies aren't for first timers).

Generally, the games are decent, and while you don't always necessarily have the assurance that you would from a proper team of people you can trust, people generally try to do their job properly.

Having a mic is a big plus that sadly doesn't get used enough. Everyone should be communicating things like enemy positions, incoming kritz/ubers, questioning spies, etc.

I never said it wasn't fun. I said that it isn't made to be fun, it's made to be competitive, and some people get fun out of that.

Comp clans was a TFC thing. You join a team. Make a looking thread on NATF2, CommFT, or ETF2L.

no1 casually goes on to stomp pubs, there is no ♥♥♥♥ing fun in that, jumping on and going like 94-6 is no fun at all. If you can't gurantee that:

A: Everyone is trying to win as much as you're.

and

B: Everyone is near your skill level.

Oh haha... I remember my first Lobby (ever!) that blaze took me through.

I knew the set up but he said to go change to whatever class I felt like. We ended playing with one Scout, 1 demo, 1 pyro (blaze), 1 engineer, 1 medic (ofc), and 1 sniper (me XD).

Oh man, good times. We won somehow. (Though my internet cut out so I was disconnected :( )

I like how people speak as if their opinions are fact ( pubs are more fun than comp, comp is more fun than pubs ) No offense to anyone, of course~

It's all opinions. I know that some people on this forum would mean the following as an insult, but you sound like someone who would have more fun on a public server with an established community @OP. And I do not mean that as an insult at all :)
