Stuck on connecting to server

Haven't been able to play yet due to just continuously looking for the server. Spent 5 minutes trying to connect. Anyone else having this issue? Also can someone confirm a hood view or cockpit view?

Devs commented on cockpit view. The cars severely deform making cockpit view not viable. Bumper view and 2 external views. Game connects to a server when launched, perhaps its just a server update.

It's not much help long term, but if you disconnect from the internet you should be able to play the game - it should just say 'can't connect to the ridge racer server' and then let you continue.
