I noticed there were two packs available for console pre-order (http://holdstartselect.com/2011/10/24/binary-domain-preorder-goodies-revealed/) but only the MP Pack for PC. In fact, PowerUp Rewards members could get both packs (http://blogs.sega.com/2011/12/12/binary-domain-powerup-rewards-at-gamestop/) for console.

What I haven't been able to find out is whether the PC version has the equivalent of the SP pack already, or if it will be available at any time. My interest in Binary Domain is primarily for the SP so the Dan Marshall Pack would be more my thing. I'm grabbing it through the GMG deal with the MP Pack, so this clearly isn't a deal breaker for me - but I remain curious about the Dan Marshall Pack.

Does anyone know anything about this in regard to PC?

Sadly not, but for what it's worth it just seems to be a stat bonus and a gaudy weapon skin. More of a paid cheat.

Personally, I hate this stuff and thus don't bother with it. Once people stop falling for it, it will stop happening.

My best guess would be that either the Dan pack would come with the retail version of the PC game, or it doesn't exist for the PC at all. Is BD on gamers gate or any other service? It might be worth checking there.

Don't bother with the SP-DLC. It's not really worth anything. The MP-DLC is the only thing that is worth something ... if the MP will have more players than it has on the PS3.

Well, I pre-ordered from GMG and am getting the multiplayer pack. I'll probably never play multiplayer, though. I wish I could get the SP pack instead.

And just to throw in a dissenting opinion, I love being given powerful stuff in games, even when I have to pay extra for it.

The "cheat pack" for Saints Row 3 and the special weapons for Red Faction Armageddon pre-orders (Mr. Toots FTW!!!) were some of my recent faves.

To each his own. ;)

Sorry, but I'm not gonna bother with the MP-DLC. SP is more worth it for me.
And there are some people who prefer SP gameplay as well.

I prefer SP too. But the SP-DLC is crap. It's cheat DLC. Your weapon is more powerful and you start with some nanomachines. You don't even get a new weapon or another chapter. This SP DLC just makes the game even easier than it already is.

The MP-DLC on the other hand gives you another map and a new class.

well I already beat the game on 360. So I don't mind a more powerful weapon from the beginning :D

But it's retail! So it's just for those who are lucky to buy retail box or collector's edition, or whatever it's called. At least we know it's a different appid, so it should be a standalone key - someone could sell it. Maybe.
Same for the other retail dlc, it's for those how have bought a retail edition. Common practice in steam to have separate appids\subs for retail and digital versions.

Will see, i think that we'll get them all. In main case there are no reason in any DLCs for BD - i just want to play some game, see the story, spent 5-10 hours for Survive, nothing more.

from what i see the Marshall pack only makes SP "easier" and doesn't seem really something worthy to have.

it is worthy once you beat the game and want to replay the game from the beginning only to find out that all of your upgraded weapons are all back to normal.

Buying from SEGA means using their login / download service to download and activate your game. There's a 5-activation limit ("refreshed periodically").

http://us.download-shop.sega.com/how-it-works.html

Personally, I have so many games on Steam, I'd rather have everything on here. I guess you call that "Steam Critical Mass," or SCM...

Anyway, if it's replay value I want, I'll just grab a trainer.

Slightly better assault rifle vs. unlimited ammo and 1-hit kills... hm.

"A Steam account, registration with enclosed serial code and internet connection are required to play."

Still i hope they will release it for those who ordered on Steam directly. Specially for those who were not aware of seeing a store on Sega

There is a DLC button on the game page in steam (in the client). It redirects you here
http://store.steampowered.com/dlc/203750/
Maybe in future we can get this pack after all. All we can do is keep asking SEGA and checking CDR for this.
There is another example of a blank dlc page - The Darkness II
http://store.steampowered.com/dlc/67370/
The game was released in February and also had a preorder bonus.

So the chance is quite small I should say. Depends on a publisher though. If I were a publisher, I would rather sell additional dlcs after the launch, it means more easy money. Many people would like to have a "full" game even if these dlcs are just additional weapons or skins.

I would like to see Dan Marshall pack DLC on Steam available for purchase. Don't like the sense of missing something, even if it's the cheating rifle we're talking about.

Edit: Yay, thank you, SEGA! <3
