I was wondering if I should buy this version on steam. And I would like to know what changes you did to it other then increasing quality of graphics and resolution? Can I get list of changes?

Gameplay is identical to the original from what I remember. They added a couple new windows at the left (because of extra real-estate from 9:16 monitors I assume) for tracking/cycling heroes or buildings.

I think they released it just to remind people how bad M2 is.

I hoped they would rebalance chaos vs order temples and krolm.

I highly doubt that. I'd say if we as players were able to mod the game, then we could choose how to rebalance it... otherwise it'd take the next decade to do rebalancing because everyone sees the balance differently.

Me personally, I think the Order side in some ways is better and others not so much. Monks are useless most of the time for a small economy, and are a waste of gold. Healers are great. Problem with both and Paladins is that when they die, they die permanently even if you do have a mausoleum open and ready for people. Chaos isn't much better though as Warriors of Discord are great tanks but insanely stupid. They'll hardly ever buy any gear, any healing potions or help out other heroes. Cultists are pointless as they deal negligble to any damage and has no direct attack spells. Priestess' are okay but aren't a real threat (though a swarm of mind-controlled vampires IS a real threat).

The biggest annoyance for me is that some heroes have poor Main Stats. Artifice and Rogues? Paladins and Intelligence? Monks and Willpower? Come on... Artifice would be useful if it would allow rogues to hide in plain sight or maybe deal extra critical damage. Paladins with intelligence would be fine if they had more abilities that their intelligence would work well with (pre-expansion it was pointless as they didn't have Turn Undead). Willpower is only useful if you have a gambling hall or "brothel" on the map, and it is only useful if you don't want your heroes to waste their gold.

I pretty much agree but Order side is generally better because they all are highly intelligent and are much better vs chaos ( Undead are being smashed by Paladins and Monks alike). On top of that Monks will learn spells from Library when I only few times saw Krypta doing same. Only upside of Krolm is that they automatically creates party and defend Mages and Wrath is imba too.

I wish they could do some serious rebalancing so we could play it in multi :/

ps. Artifice allows Rogues and Elves to steal from graves. Afaik if you tweak that stat on other heroes they would start it too. And Willpower is good in pvp where your heroes wont respond to enemy attack flags on your settlements.

Yes, rogues sux in that meter in multi :(
And yes ppl do play multi nowadays.

Unless of course you build a multitude of statues and gardens. Though that sucks up a lot of gold to just get your rogues to attack the enemy instead of eachother. I've seen times when if you mistakenly (or on purpose) put a reward flag on a fellow rogue or a rogue guild of your own, the occupants will destroy their own home in order to get the gold from the flag.

Rogues are only viable with Krolms where you need very good economy to run those bastards. And rogues on their own provide high income if used right, but downside of these are all those Royal Gardens and Statues you need to build :/

Still order-factions are better in multi especially with Lunord.
