how does a market gardener work?
does it crit WHILE jumping only?
or you have to jump once to activate crit, and then you hit someone, and crit goes away????
or it only crits while im in mid-air?
(if thats the case, then i think its a pretty ♥♥♥♥ty weapon, just like the man-treads, when not facing knockback)

Rocket Jump.
If you hit someone before your feet touch the ground, it will be a crit.
It's one of the worse weapons, but incredibly effective if you know what you're doing. Nitzan has Gardened enough people to prove that, heh.

Or your feet touch anything for that matter.
It's pretty handy if you know how to control your landing and land right in front of someone with a crit shovel in their face

Just learn to use it, and then you'll realise how good it is. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VY6ECry16ZY)

Diving bombing is good only if you have a backup plan. You're forced to reload your rocketlauncher, so you need to fight enemies with your Shotgun, and duck behind cover really fast.
Pro soldiers play one of two roles: Pocket, and Roaming.
- Pocket soldiers just protect thier medic. They play like any normal player, focusing on doing high damage.
- Roaming soldiers are free to run around and attack enemies. They focus on perfect rocket jumping skills and map awareness.
Basic Upward rocket jump
Look down.
Jump, Duck, and Fire, all at the same time.
Basic Forward rocket jump
Look backwards.
Look at the floor, but NOT directly down. Somewhere halfway.
Jump, Duck, and Fire, all at the same time.

and how to integrate RJ into a playstyle?
like in above vid, he uses surprise to close distance and deliver hits.
what to do while RJ'ing? aim where? is a dead medic worth sacrificing yourself? when you know you can take out 2 opponents without much risk?
im usually a ground soldier, only rj to cover distance, when its safe, and i know a hp pack is near.
sometimes, the rj is satisfactory, sometimes, i just hop a short distance, its never the similar length twice.

Join the community and play on the Jump iT server. (Intermediate to advanced rocketjumping. They have very few beginner maps)
Another server you should/could attend is the Twisted Nipple Jump Server. I regular there to coach, and it's directed mainly to beginners, featuring mostly beginner to intermediate maps/jumps. There is also regen on all maps. (even on some non-regen maps! :o )

and how to integrate RJ into a playstyle?
Usually just to close distance. If you need to move somewhere fast, rocketjump there.

Aim at enemies. You should be acting the same way you normally do when you walk - nothing special.
is a dead medic worth sacrificing yourself?
Almost always. There are a few exceptions, like if you have the Intel, but just use common sense.
when you know you can take out 2 opponents without much risk?
It depends on your personal skill and the situation. There isn't any easy answer - You're supposed the decide on the spot whether it's a good idea or not.
Assume they have full health and are good players. If you're low on health, don't go for it. If you think you can finish them off before thier friends come, go for it.
You'll pick up the skill of "Is it worth it?" after a while of playing TF2.

This works too. But try a few height-wise rocketjumps. It's much easier to shoot people if you're on top of a truck or something.

All I can say is practice. There isn't any easy mode button. Start off with memorizing the controls. It's Left Control + Space + Left Mouse Click.
For most people, this is Left Pinky, Left Thumb, Right Pointer Finger all at the same time. Just practice that.
