Sometimes I just want to get in the air and skip the checklist with the one-button start, but there are a few issues with the quick start method worth addressing.
In the RV-6 and Maule Orion, the quick start button doesn't set the fuel pump switch to the on position, and skipping to a waypoint during taxi will also set the fuel pump switch to off even if it was on before. This can cause serious complications during takeoff with rotor effects on because the rotor torque will pull the aircraft off the runway before the airspeed can increase to a range where the aileron/rudder control can actually compensate for it.
The avionics master switch also doesn't come on during a quick start, and there's no hotkey to turn on the avionics. This leaves either a checklist or a manual mouse click as the only options for enabling comm/nav equipment.
I'd also prefer a hotkey for the landing lights separate from the hotkey for all aircraft lights. I only want my landing lights on during takeoff and landing, and I always fly with strobes and position lights on for general safety (Outside of the covert cargo jobs of course).
