It's not wildly popular, but I wouldn't say it's dying, at least not yet. I think its long-term success depends on how quickly the devs can keep the updates coming. First and foremost, the game needs more maps and modes (CTF and control points, for starters) to keep people interested. More unlockables in the store might help, too -- a lot of people are sitting on growing piles of BP with not much to spend it on. There is apparently a bunch of new stuff in the pipeline (maps, rumored new classes, bosses, etc.), so it's just a matter of waiting for it to arrive in the game.
