I found one on level 3, but I'm wondering if there is another ranged weapon before that? (Besides throwing daggers and shurikens)

do you mean only throwing weapons or including bow and arrow. I think you missed the bow and arrow. i think the bow was at the end of level 2 or beginning of level 3.

I missed the sling that was mentioned.

Got the bombs, found a couple of shurikens and 3-4 throwing daggers.

Found a bow in a secret area in like the second or third room of Floor 3, by then I had like 3 poison arrows, and I believe there were some frost arrows near the bow, thankfully the arrows weren't used up so I have plenty of things to attack with now.

This makes me curious though... what is the role of dex? As far as I can tell ranged attacks don't miss unless the creature is out of the panel when you throw it, so I have to wonder if strength is the way to go and not dex.

dex... if you look at the bonuses, they are all mostly dexterity. And if you look at dagger, it is mostly dex bonuses. so im going to assume arrow and dagger are dex. though throwing, i think is strength.

How do you get in the room with the bow on floor 3??? I cant figure it out for the life of me. I have been through whole level and have everything else: gold key, notes, opened iron door, etc. but that damn bow spot with the 2 pits vexes me!

There is a wall switch.

Dex is for accuracy and evasion (plus two resistances), but all physical damage is modified by strength (even for ranged!). As all ranged damage always hits, dexterity is actually a near useless stat for a back-row ranged character.

@Cabbie
There's a row of pillars that runs parallel to the wall with the bow/arrow in it. On the far side (from the entrance) of the furthest pillar, there is a button switch. This switch opens the middle pillar, which contains another switch, which exposes a pressure plate, I think, on the far side of the pits. Throw something onto this pressure plate to close the pits.

The ammo is rocks. There are about 15 of them in the whole game.
And if you use torches or other items to weight down pressure plates you will have them until the end of the game.
