Friend of mine and I are trying to join as a team...but it shows he's offline, and we don't see each other's chat in the rooms. Obviously we're both playing Super MNC. Is this a bug of some sort or am I doing something wrong?

Yeah. The list of Steam friends seems to do nothing and I can never find my friends in chat.

There have been issues with friends-list and inviting process.
Uber knows this and is working on it.

Also, chat lobbies are limited to 100 users at a time. Your friends might be sitting in another one and there is no way to choose your chat lobby.
(aside from restarting your game and hoping for the best)

You don't see the friends list on the right side?

- I - am not having any problems inviting my friends.
Some users have reported such.

One possible workaround is to make sure that neither you or person being invited have their steam profile set to private.

Change that to "make sure you and your friends have your steam profile set to public".

If you have it set to "friends and friends of friends" (how I prefer it) you won't show up on friends lists in SMNC. You have to have your profile set to public.

I hope they change that. Getting random friend invites and trade invites gets annoying after awhile, so I like to keep my account hidden from the public at large.

Nothing works. I can see all the friends I'm trying to invite in the friend list. Some of them I can't even right click on to invite.

Tonight 4 of us tried to play together. Out of the 16 possible invite connections, ONE worked, and it did not even go to the person I had clicked on. No other invites by any of my friends to any of my friends were received.

I'll give this one more try in a week.

I did some further digging. It's a known bug. half my steam friends show up, and they're either online, offline, or don't play SMNC at all, but they show up as online in the bottom right...while the 2 that actually play with me, show up as permanently offline. We got lucky once when we were in the same chat channel and managed to invite each other. Hope this is a high priority.

We are having an issue with people on LAN trying to play together. My partner and I are at the same external-IP and we can't connect to each other, but we are able to connect with people outside our house. Very frustrating.

Is that part of their anti-cheat perhaps?
