I'm on a 2011 Macbook Pro and I'm getting this as well. Hopefully, there will be a fix for this soon.

Same problem here. I've had this problem with other Telltale games as well so I suspect it might got something to do with their engine.

Sounds good on my Win 7 desktop (so far), and I'm just using the motherboard sound chip.

This has bothered me for years with their games, I registered to post over on their forums as I've sick of it. Not holding out for a response. I find it hard to believe there's no sound engineers on the payroll that hasn't picked up this low quality audio before. You don't have to be an audiophile to notice it.

It's quite noticeable when playing with headphones on - which is probably a majority for PC players. I too have noticed this in TT games in the past. It's a bit like some of the games I've played on Xbox where some developers use lower quality sound as most console gamers likely just use TV audio or other sources that aren't headphones. You can get away with the poor voice quality there but not on PC. Still, its a bit strange as all the other sounds in the game seem fine.

For those who experience crackling audio using Windows OS, try setting the audio quality (in Playback Devices) for your sound card to 16-bit 44000hz (or 48000hz)
Some games require this (like Call of Juarez games for example)

I'm happy to announce that the latest update improves the audio greatly!
Here's the official statement (http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showpost.php?p=604532&postcount=63), but you can just go on and play it once you get the update.
