Steam has many chat status but lacks an Invisible status, wouldn't that make chat system close to perfect?

One of most important things Steam lacks imo, what do you think people?

The offline status is the same thing as invisible buddy. :)

Invisible = offline to others, but they are online to you.

You should not appear invisible to anyone you are in a chat/groupchat with.

Possible uses:

At work and not wanting the boss to see you online (he uses steam and is your friend for work purposes).

Not wanting the missus or kids or siblings or parents to see you online.

Still be able to open a chat with others while invisible.

Possible release date:

It sets by default to invisible on every account when released without warning or a popup, just a new entry in settings. (Valve does this on april 1st)

Actually it is at least partially the same thing, because both offline and invisible both share the common function of making it appear your not online when you are. Derp.

Oh you can correct overstatement. Well, that's good.

Anyway, yeah, invisible status (sometimes as a subset of a custom status) has been suggested a lot and as far as I can tell, met with a fair amount of support.

But this is Gaben were talking about. He bans first and takes your money again later. He's never going to implement new Steam features useful to us.
