So I was going through my stuff and I see my all time favorite game. I was wondering if I should Install it on my computer. On a scale of one to ten I'd say its 6 for scratched. This game is from 2005. I dont know if I should Install it or not, will it mess up my computer?

Well that would depend:

Do you want to play it?

Does the game play well on your PC?

Do you have enough drive space? Are you concerned about any DRM that might be on it?

I'd say, if you want to play it, have the room and don't think it would have problems, go for it.

I don't know why it would screw up your computer so go ahead.

A scratched disk won't mess up your computer, but it could conceivably hose the installation and cause your PC to hang.

will it mess up my computer?

No. It might have trouble installing is all.

If it's scratched, you could get a CD repair kit, or get it buffed somewhere.

What's the game?

... will it mess up my computer?

These disk structures have error checking, mostly the install program will hang or kick you out before it installs any possibly ill-copied code. Don't worry about it.

I heard if you use a scratched CD, you could get AIDS. So no, don't do it.

Actually, what I think is a better idea is to extract the installation files from the install disc. It may end up that none of the game installation files are on the part of the disc that's scratched.
