View Full Version : Update prevent running DF

If I ran the Dustforce from steam, I got no error message and it just failed to start without letting me know anything.
If I ran Dustforce from the progfiles/steam folder it gave the following errormessage: d3_dx9_43.dll missing.

Found it strange that this suddenly was a problem, it was fixed by reinstalling (don't understand because I thought I had the most recent version) directX (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35) from microsoft.

If anyone has problems I hope this can help you!

Thank you, re-installing made it work.



Actually, scratch that. Even after installing DX runtimes, it doesn't open anymore after the first launch after re-installing.

I'm having a black screen then quit. Maybe it's the same issue? The only thing I can think of is.. I set it to not display the intro, and I set it to windowed mode.

Yeah, same thing kinda happened to me. I found the "dustforce_original.exe" and that ran fine, but with the new one, it just opens a black screen like its going to start, and just closes, no error.

yup same with me, running normally doesn't work, it will show a screen, then dissapear, but running dusforce_original.exe works, but it seems running dustforce_original.exe is kinda like running the game without the patch working.

Sorry, looks like disabling the intro in the new version is broken, for now you can try enabling the intro in dustforce_original.exe then running the new version.

Will fix this in a patch shortly.
